I fell in love with herbal baths because I had severe cramps, and the warm water in baths was the only thing that soothed the pain and lulled me to sleep.
Eventually I melded my love of flowers and herbs with bathing and I tried sprinkling herbs in my bath for botanical healing.
I felt a huge sense of peace and pain relief from herbal baths, and I wanted to share my secret recipes with you.

What are Herbal Baths?
Herbal baths are baths filled with herb infused water and/or fresh or dried flowers or herbs.
Turn your bath into a healing ritual by silencing your phone. Cleanse the energy in your bathroom by burning a small amount of cedar, palo santo, or sage smoke or lighting a natural beeswax candle.
Making Your Sleep Herbal Bath
For the sleep bath, gather about 1 1/2 cups fresh or dried sage and 1 1/2 cups lavender. Fresh sage can be found at many grocery stores. Dried lavender can be found at an herb shop, apothecary, or Amazon if you don’t have it in your garden.
To make herbal water for the bath, simmer herbs in a pot for 1/2 to 1 hour and either strain them or pour the whole mixture in your bath.
Place the herbs in a muslin bag and infuse in your bath water, or simmer in a pot with water and strain, before adding to bath water. Compost herbs after bathing.
The Benefits of Sleep Herbal Bath
Lavender and sage have huge health benefits. With its calming and relaxing aroma, lavender has been proven to aid sleep. Lavender has anti-inflammatory properties and soothes the prostaglandins involved with pain.
Sage (Salvia officinalis) is part of the Labiatae family and most commonly, the leaves and flowers are used. The volatile oils in the sage plant bind to our GABA receptors inducing a feeling of well-being, calm, and sleepiness.
